The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s soccer team will be among those ‘dignitaries’ taking part in the annual “ABC Family Literacy” Day this Saturday (Jan 23) at the Henry Grube Center.
It’s the second year in a row that the ‘Pack have had a contingent at this event. Last year, players Nathasha Little and Heather Lloyd, along with Sports Information Officer Larry Read spent some time reading Doctor Seuss books to children.
This year, not only will members of the team and Read be reading (11:50 am), but other members of the Soccer team will be playing “Literary Soccer” with children attending. They’ll be kicking the ball around in a room at the Henry Grube Center starting at 930 am.
ABC Family Literacy Day will run from 9 am to 12:30 pm at the Henry Grube Center on the North Shore.
WolfPack players expected to attend this year are: Heather Lloyd, Taryn McDougall, Ashley Piggot, Cassie Drummond, Jen Knopp, Abbey McAuley, Alanna Bekkering, Ashley Jorge, Cassandra Evans, Shannen Meyer, Val Goddard and Kelsey Callander.
